Plumbing Repairs

Every repair visit begins with an inspection. We trace the water supply and drainage lines involved, test pressure, and open up only as much as necessary to confirm what is wrong. Once the fault is clear, we explain what needs to be done and what parts are required before any work starts, so there are no surprises.

We carry common spares on the van — washers, cartridges, cistern fittings, PPR and PVC fittings, sealants and flexible connectors — which means most taps, toilets, showers and visible pipe leaks are fixed on the first visit. Where a specialist part must be ordered, we make the system safe and agree a return date.

Leaks are the most frequent call-out: at taps and mixers, along soldered or PPR joints, under sinks, at the cistern, and on supply lines feeding washing machines and water heaters. We also repair running or overflowing toilets, weak or sputtering showers, blocked traps and wastes, and water hammer caused by loose pipes or failing valves.

Older installations often need more than a like-for-like swap. Where a fitting has corroded or a repair would only delay the inevitable, we say so plainly and quote for a replacement instead of charging repeatedly for short-lived patches.

A burst pipe or an uncontrollable leak is treated as an emergency. The first priority is stopping the water: we show you the nearest isolation valve or main stopcock, shut off the affected line, and protect floors, furniture and electrical fittings before starting the repair.

Once the immediate problem is contained, we inspect the surrounding pipework for secondary damage — joints strained by the burst, fittings soaked by spray, or insulation that needs replacing — and complete the job so the system is fully sound again.
